Who we are

Bro, Did You Watch That? is a YouTube show by Steve Ryan and Greg Cress. This website is https://brodidyouwatchthat.com/ and it is the home base for the show.

This page explains what we collect, why, and what you can ask us to do about it. Write to info@arqiv.fm.

The group chat (our email list)

If you join the group chat, we collect your email address. We use MailerLite, an email service, to store it and to send the emails.

We use double opt-in: after you sign up, MailerLite sends you a confirmation email and you only join the list when you tap the link in it. MailerLite also keeps the date you signed up and confirmed, and the IP address you signed up from.

You get about one email a week. Every email has an unsubscribe link. If you unsubscribe, we keep your address marked as unsubscribed so we do not email you again by mistake. MailerLite may record whether emails are opened or clicked; we use that to see what people like, not to profile anyone.

Suggestions: "Bro, you have to watch this"

The suggestion form collects the title you suggest, whether it is a movie, a show or an internet thing, who needs to see it, your pitch, and optionally a link and your name. We email the details to the show's contact address and keep them on this website so we can pick from them.

If a suggestion makes the show we may say your name on air, but only if you gave one. We keep suggestions until we delete them. You can ask us to delete yours at any time.

Pick a side

When you vote on the weekly argument, we save your pick as a small cookie called bdywt_vote_ followed by a number. It stays in your browser for one year so the page can show your result. It does not contain anything about you.

To stop the same person voting twice, we also keep a scrambled (hashed) version of your IP address for 24 hours. The forms use the same kind of scrambled value for up to an hour to limit spam. We cannot turn it back into your IP address.

YouTube videos and thumbnails

Episode thumbnails load from YouTube's image servers, so YouTube can see that your browser asked for them. Videos play in YouTube's privacy-enhanced player (youtube-nocookie.com), and the player only loads after you click play. From then on YouTube's own privacy policy applies.

Audio

Podcast episodes on the Listen page play from our podcast host. Nothing loads until you press play.

Cookies and storage

We only use the vote cookie described above. Your browser may also keep small notes on your own device, like the channel number you just changed to. Those never leave your device. Show admins get the usual WordPress login cookies.

Hosting

This website is hosted by Hostinger. Like any web server it logs the IP address and pages requested, which it uses for security and to keep the site running.

Your choices

You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to info@arqiv.fm.
